Our spunky little Zilla girl turned the big 01 last weekend, and I’m still trying to figure out how that happened so quickly. It’s so true what they say, “the days are long, but the years are short”. We’ve definitely had our share of long days adjusting as a family of four, but when I look back at this and realize it was already a year ago, I am just blown away.
This girl has brought the perfect amount of spice to our family and definitely shook things up as soon as she arrived. I always say she’s our sunshine mixed with a little hurricane. 😉
She has made my heart grow in ways that I never knew it could. I simply could not love her more.
My sister bought her this shirt, and it could not be more perfect for her. She is FIERCE beyond words and has been since day one. She is incredibly independent yet wants to be attached to my body pretty much at all times. She throws her head back when she laughs (the cutest little chuckle), has the most perfect gap between her teeth, is packed with a whole lotta sass, and is becoming quite the goofball. Our very own Velcro baby, one-socked wonder and and toilet paper shredding extraordinaire. She is not a fan of many people, but she loves her mama, daddy and big brother (and sometimes even Grandma) hard, and we love that about her.
We celebrated her birthday by taking her to the park and letting her swing and swing, which she just loved. So much so that she fell asleep. 🙂 My parents stopped over later to give her big hugs and birthday presents. We’re having a big party for her next weekend. I’m sure she’ll hate it (because she really doesn’t like other people – Hah!) but we’re celebrating her and hopefully her first taste of cake and ice cream will make up for the big crowd. And if not, I’ll give her some frozen green peas, which are her absolute favorite! 😉
This girl, she’ll blaze her own trail, and I’m just excited to be along for the ride ❤
Happy first birthday, my sweet girl. I’ll love you for always ❤
