with the exception of one very handsome little dude, that is. πŸ™‚

By Saturday afternoon, I was going a little stir-crazy. I was ready to get out and do something, but Hub really wanted to stay home and get some work done around the house. So, I texted my girlfriend, Kim, who’s hubby was also busy, and asked her if she wanted to go on a last minute adventure. She was in, so we packed up our four kids (which is in no way an easy task) and away we went to the cottage.

We had a bit of a surprise when we got there and were locked out… but after a bit of finagling… we were in! and we were definitely ready to have some fun! It was a warm, beautiful evening, so went for ice cream (of course) and then took the kids to play at the park. Once we got them all to bed that night, Kimmy and I were able to sit out on the porch, have a drink (or 2), and catch up. It was so nice!

The next morning, we made coffee, fed the kiddos breakfast, and headed back down to the beach. We walked along the pier and threw stones in the lake. Toddlers do not have the best aim, but fortunately, no one was injured! πŸ˜‰ I even brought my big girl camera long and was able to get a few non-iPhone pics.

We went to lunch and did a little shopping. Kimmy bought them all balloon animals, which were a bit hit… until they all popped. πŸ˜‰ The kids also had a great time playing in the backyard and “catching” this lady bug. IMG_6027

Then it was time to pack up and head home. It was a quick trip, and we were all exhausted by the end of it, but it was definitely worth it. It was just what I needed before getting back into our routine on Monday. I’m so thankful for good friends who are up for going along with my crazy ideas! ❀
